Trekking to Monte Corno

Walking among the peaks

Monte Corno is one of the favourite destinations of trekking enthusiasts in Ledro. The peak is 1,732 meters high, and it offers a spectacular panorama of Lake Ledro and the surrounding mountains. It can be reached with a 2-hour hike, starting from Tremalzo, precisely from Bocca di Casèt.

From Bocca Caset to the Mora-Pellegrini path

In the same location you’ll also find the bird ringing station, where the MUSE of Trento observes and studies the migrations of birds and birds of prey across Trentino. This stretch is not simple - it includes continuous ups and downs, sometimes there are narrow paths and exposed sections where it is possible to grab onto cables, similar to those you’d find along a via ferrata.

Up to the top of Monte Corno

Afterwards, take the Mora-Pellegrini path, between rocky peaks and views of the lake that make the effort very rewarding. Soon you’ll get to the crossroads leading to the summit cross of Mount Corno, requiring just a little more effort to reach this panoramic peak. After a well-deserved break, you can descend along path 456B to Bochet de Spinera (1318 metres), until you get to Malga Giù, and then continue back to Bocca Caset, with some quick uphill stretches.

The route is not particularly demanding, but it requires good physical shape and suitable equipment. In any case, the panorama will repay you for everything!
